Service · Support & AMC

Support & Maintenance that keeps your software earning, not decaying.

Websites, apps and platforms rot without care: dependencies age, stores change policies, attackers scan. Our AMC retainer covers fixes, patches, upgrades, backups, monitoring and small enhancements — with response times in writing.

Covers: websites, stores, web apps, mobile apps, servers. Engagement: monthly retainer, annual contract.

What's covered

Six things every AMC includes.

The unglamorous work that keeps software fast, safe and online — done on a schedule, not after a disaster.

Bug fixes

Broken flows, layout glitches, integration failures and regressions — triaged by severity, fixed against the SLA, verified before close.

Security patches

CVE watch on your stack, prompt patching of frameworks, CMSs and plugins, hardening passes and post-patch smoke tests.

Dependency upgrades

Planned framework, runtime and library upgrades before end-of-life — tested on staging first, so versions never fall dangerously behind.

Backups & recovery

Automated daily backups with an off-site copy, retention policy — and periodic restore drills, because an untested backup is a hope, not a plan.

Uptime monitoring

24×7 automated checks on availability, SSL expiry, domain expiry and key user flows — we usually know before your customers do.

Small enhancements

Included hours each month for the steady stream of real life: new banners, form changes, a report tweak, a notification, a small integration.

Why an AMC

Software doesn't stay finished.

Three things break "done" software — none of them announce themselves in advance.

Security incidents

Unpatched sites get found — by bots, not by luck. Malware injections, defacements and crypto-miners typically enter through a dependency that had a fix available for months. Scheduled patching plus monitoring closes that window and, if something does get through, backups and an incident runbook make it a bad afternoon instead of a lost week.

Framework end-of-life

PHP versions, Node LTS lines, Android SDK targets, CMS majors — everything you run on has an expiry date. Miss it and you face a risky, expensive big-bang migration. An AMC absorbs upgrades incrementally, on staging, while everything still works.

App store policy changes

Apple and Google regularly raise minimum SDK levels, privacy-declaration and permission requirements — and apps that don't comply get update-blocked or delisted. AMC keeps your apps building, compliant and publishable all year, not just at launch.

AMC plans

Three tiers. Pick the safety net that fits.

Monthly retainers on an annual contract, priced from a base rate after a short audit of your stack. Written quote, no per-incident charges inside included hours.

Onboarding

From handover to covered in four steps.

Works the same whether we built your software or someone else did.

  1. 1

    Audit

We review the codebase, hosting, dependencies, existing backups and known issues — and give you an honest health report.

  2. 2

    Access & safety net

Credentials transferred securely, monitoring and automated backups switched on, restore verified — before we change anything.

  3. 3

    Stabilise

Overdue patches applied, urgent issues from the audit fixed, and the backlog triaged into the first month's plan.

  4. 4

    Steady state

Monthly cadence: patches, monitoring review, enhancement hours, and a report of what was done and what's planned next.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

Do you maintain software that another team built?

Yes. AMC onboarding starts with a technical audit — codebase, hosting, dependencies, backups, monitoring — regardless of who built it. We take over WordPress and PHP sites, ecommerce stores, custom web apps, and iOS / Android apps built by other agencies or in-house teams.

What counts as a small enhancement versus a new project?

Anything that fits within your plan's included hours — content changes, new form fields, layout tweaks, a small report, a new notification — is handled inside the AMC. Larger items (a new module, a redesign, a new integration platform) are scoped and quoted separately as mini-projects, and AMC clients get priority scheduling on them.

What do the response-time SLAs actually cover?

The SLA defines how quickly we acknowledge and begin working on an issue after you report it (or monitoring detects it), by severity. Critical outages are worked continuously until resolved on Growth and Enterprise plans. Resolution time depends on the fault — no honest vendor promises fixed resolution times for unknown bugs — but you always get a named owner and status updates until it's closed.

Do unused hours roll over?

Standard plans reset monthly — that's what keeps the retainer affordable and the queue predictable. On annual contracts we build in a reasonable carry-over buffer for planned work like a framework upgrade, agreed in the contract rather than improvised later.

Is AMC only for projects Smart Desizns built?

No — a large share of our AMC portfolio was built elsewhere. For projects we did build (see our products and portfolio), onboarding is faster because the audit step is already done. Either way you get the same coverage: patches, backups, monitoring, fixes and enhancement hours.

How is AMC priced?

As a monthly retainer, from a base rate that depends on your stack, traffic and the number of applications covered. After a short audit we send a written quote per tier. Annual billing carries a discount, and there are no per-incident charges inside the included hours.

When did your site last get a health check?

Send us your website or app details and we'll run a free preliminary audit — versions, obvious risks, backup status — with a written AMC quote per tier.
